My sad, sad craft room is still in shambles. BUT there’s a silver lining! There IS furniture in the room now AND things are being made! We recently acquired a used dresser that resembled a Mid-Century piece, but needed a little help. So I am refinishing it and transforming it into the perfect statement piece for our bedroom. Here’s one of the photo’s I am using for inspiration:
Really pretty, right? My obsession with Mid-Century style has taken over my decorating sense and now all I do online is research DIY hacks of more recent furniture styles and how to make them look Mid-Century. If only there were more hours in the day, I’d have made so many things by now! But alas, I can only do so much with the time I am given.
Anyway, here is the dresser we found:
I plan on adding some tapered cylinder legs to the bottom to give it a little extra height and style. I’ve had a lot of fun with this so far. I’ve already sanded down the surfaces I will paint, and I’ve started the priming process. By the way, I LOVE sanding. If you have anything you need sanded, call me. Seriously. I felt like Macho Man with that thing!
See the plastic under the dresser? I’ve discovered the only thing Space Bags are good for! 😉
The primer should be dry now, so back to it! Stay tuned for updates!
